'See Things Differently' shortlisted for DARC Awards
I am thrilled to have my recent artwork See Things Differently shortlisted for DARC Awards for light sculpture. The artwork was created in a ‘live installation’ over 10 days during my time as Artist-in-Residence for the UK Government, at the UK Pavilion in Dubai. If you are from the Design or Lighting industry you can vote for my artwork now in the public vote details on voting below.
Thank you to DARC Awards for the glowing review of the artwork. A few words from the write-up:
"[Nicola Anthony's light sculpture] responds to data collected from social media using the hashtag #COP26. The artist used AI tools to analyse the sentiment of online discussions. The artwork then uses colour to translate the sentiment of the global dialogue. Positive data leads to a shift in coloured light from white to colours within the blue and green spectrum whilst difficult and anxious data moves into the red and amber spectrum. The sculpture can be seen shifting dramatically from one end of the colour spectrum to the other, reflecting a conversation which is complex, challenging and divisive."
