In this body of artwork Nicola Anthony focuses on individuals who have a particularly complex relationship with time: giving a glimpse into the complexity of the cycle of human lives, our experience of life passing, and memories morphing.
As well as talking to the general public, this project delves much deeper to gather stories from individuals and communities who are disenfranchised or who face adversity, causing their relationship with time to be even more complex:
Nicola will showcase the stories of those facing chronic illness who feel time can pass too fast or slow, those who have suffered trauma and have lost time or erased certain memories, those who do not have enough time left such as the terminally ill, and those whose time is not theirs to control such as domestic or migrant workers, or the inmates in Changi Prison.
Life is a cycle of beginnings, endings, and re-writings: things change and shift. Against all adversity, our community is full of brave, inspiring, and unique individuals who write their own stories.
