Conceived by artist Nicola Anthony as a platform for research into the stories, social memory and oral history of our global community, the Human Archive Project is the cumulative product of Nicola's creative journey with strangers' voices thus far. It maps different types of human experience via an anonymous online portal as well as personal interviews.
The Archive has become a catharsis, a place for difficult admissions and sharing secrets. This fusion of communication and miscommunication, of stories and truths, is an amalgamation of words that tells of life: with all of its billions of little signifiers that coalesce to make a symphony, a lifetime, a universe.
Eight kinetic sculptures featuring eight of the stories are on show at Singapore Art Museum from 6-29th October 2017, in the solo exhibition Human Archive Project.
