Bringing together thinking around how trauma can change the direction of life and of who we are, and research into epigenetics and the 23 pairs of chromosomes in the human genome.

The series of 23 sculptures are delicately cut out stainless steel texts written in Ukrainian Cyrillic alphabet. These stories came from the artist’s interviews with the Ukrainian community in the UK who have been displaced by the war. The stories are challenging and the histories of these families has been fragmented, and in other cases fractured. At the same time, each story features an element of hopefulness, strength, and resilience. This series focuses on answers to the question, "how has war changed you?" For each of the pieces, fragments of two people's stories have been paired.

There are 23 pieces, each in an edition of 10.
