If you don't have room to collect art right now, here's a way of having a little part of a public sculpture unveiled this year.

It all began with my public sculpture of life sized starlings in 2020. A year later, I was commissioned by European Capital of Sculpture and Aistriu to create a larger version of this public sculpture in stainless steel at O’Donoghue Theatre at University of Galway. After much demand from people who wanted to take home one of the birds for themselves, these ceramic objects were created and now you can befriend these birds over tea, hot cocoa, G&T or whatever you like to put in your mug.

The original sculpture contains a poem about the experience of migration, and these miniature birds also have wings of words: taken from messages of hope and courage that have since been shared by people who have made incredible journeys in their lives, shared in response to the large sculpture.
