Women Light Artists: Collected Light

£39.99

Collected Light: Volume Two , the second book in the Light Collective- curated series , features a suite of 42 female artists from the world of light , celebrating their accomplishments and amplifying their voices within a field historically dominated by male artists.

Nicola says: “It's a real honour to be featured amongst a stellar line up of female light artists for International Women's Day, in a brilliant new book created by Light Collective. Pre-order your signed copy here to be delivered in spring 2025.”

This series aims to make visible and promote women artists working with light, an effort that began with the creation of Women In Lighting , an initiative that foregrounds women’s contributions to the world of lighting design.

The Women In Lighting project arose as a response to the gender imbalance in the representation of female designers and artists in the lighting field, and Collected Light: Volume Two is the continuation of an effort to balance that representation. The book is the result of collaboration between Light Collective and artists from around the world, who shared their work and inspired future generations to follow in their footsteps. Participants in this second edition include figures such as Alex Leyva, Nicola Anthony, Clara Daguin, Amelia Kosminsky, and Grimanesa Amorós, among many others, whose installations use light as a medium to explore themes of identity, space, and technology.
