Congregation celebrates relationships between artists and creatives.
Congregation brings together the work of the Trustees of the Royal Society of Sculptors – Laura Ford, Almuth Tebbenhoff, Simon Hitchens, Barbara Beyer, Amy Stephens, Mark Richards, Nicola Anthony, and Rebecca Newnham. The exhibition is curated by Jacquiline Creswell. In addition, dancefilm maker Lizzie Sykes is sharing film and there will be performance by composer Karen Wimhurst
We are delighted to invite you to an inaugural event at Rebecca Newnham’s new studio, the Chapel at Tuckingmill, Tisbury, which was built by Primitive Methodists in 1877 and has an inspiring location, next to Oddford Brook and a network of footpaths. The event will take place on 24 - 26th March from 12 - 4 pm, the weekend when the clocks change, so about the same time as the spring equinox.
Spring equinox signals a renewed cycle of life with longer warmer days and beautiful early dawns, during this time we feel our connections to nature's awakening. This season makes us feel more energised and happier and has inspired the creative artists who are emerging from a dark cold winter into the light-filled, nature-ripening spring, to be part of this exhibition that celebrates new life, re-emergence, and positivity.
We are situated 2 minutes from Messums Wiltshire, which has an exciting program of exhibitions and where there is also a lovely cafe and restaurant, and Tisbury High Street where there are cafes and an amazing, huge, ancient yew tree in St John's churchyard.
