Wexford Literary Festival - Murmuration

  • The Presentation Arts Centre / www.wexfordliteraryfestival.com Enniscorthy Wexford Ireland (map)

The sculpture Murmuration, which was part of my solo exhibition in Ireland Jan 2020, has been selected to be featured in the Wexford Literary Festival. The festival has adapted to society’s new pandemic-affected mode, so whilst the location of the sculpture is unfortunately not accessible during the festival, I am incredibly grateful to the Festival team and film-maker Michael Duggan for creating a video of the sculpture which will become part of the festival digitally. Follow @WexfordLitFest to view the sculpture virtually from 3-5 July.

Murmuration will be available to see in real life from the 6th of July in The Presentation Arts Centre, which will be open to the public and will have social distancing measures in place.

The sculpture, made from the words of a poem by Louis de Paor, explores the invisible, intangible, and physical connections that we humans thrive on. It was born from a year of research working with migrant communities, minority groups, and isolated communities across Ireland to understand the experience and impact of loneliness on the human spirit.

Find out more about the artwork here.

For the writers amongst you book here for an opportunity to review and discuss poetry with one of Ireland’s leading Irish language Poets, Louis De Paor.
