Nicola Anthony's The Word Collection Project takes part in 'minimART 4.0', and invites you to contribute to her growing archive of sentences.
"The Substation’s ‘MinimART 4.0′ invites artists to push the boundary of art, and for this challenge I decided to activate my Word Collection in Singapore.
I am very pleased to invite you to the show, but if you are unable to come or you do not live in Singapore, fear not! I welcome you to join in online by contributing your words to become part of the artwork. You can do this before the exhibition opens to make sure your words become part of the sculpture, or do it during and after the event – the Word Collection Project is an ongoing, living, evolving text artwork.
About the Word collection:
It’s about you. It’s about your world.
Anonymously write a sentence about the inside of your mind, and become part of an artwork. Your sentence must begin: “I am…” / “I feel…” / “I think…” (see examples here)
Submit your words:
Tweet it: #wordcollection to @nicola_anthony
Submit it anonymously on my website: nicolaanthony.com/word-collection-project
Or email it to me
Or get involved by writing it personally on the sculpture during the event"
About minimART:
Into its 4th installment, minimART is a platform dedicated to young contemporary artists, to showcase original fine art works ranging from paintings, sculptures, photography, installation, performance and other forms of contemporary practices.
minimART will showcase local artists' works in response to an open call to transform a 1m x 1m x 3m space into a contemporary art. It is a representation on how the younger generation of local artists interpret and express contemporary ideas and issues through art. Themes explored by the artists cover aesthetic expression to conceptual art.
Visitors get to talk to the artists as they will be present on both days.
minimART 4.0 will happen on 23 March (2 to 8pm) and 24 March 2013 (12 to 6pm) at The Substation Gallery, 45 Armenian Street, Singapore 179936.
Nearest MRT : City Hall and Bras Basah.
All are welcome. Free admission!
