This year, Nicola Anthony is selected as one of the three Art Mentors for the Yellow Ribbon / Changi Women's Prison Women Artist Mentor Programme.
The Changi Women's Prison Artist Mentor Programme is an annual collaboration between the local charity Yellow Ribbon Project and Singapore Art Museum, with the aim to facilitate the rehabilitation of inmates through creative art making under the guidance of selected artist mentors– this year's being Nicola Anthony, Barry Yeow, and Kim Whye Kee.
The annual Programme cumulated in an exhibition held at the Singapore Art Museum. The 2017 exhibition is titled For Better Endings and New Beginnings, and revolved around the themes of "love, hope, optimism, reflection, and tomorrow".
A commissioned sculpture installation titled 'Flow of Time' commemorates the 2017 exhibition, and is the collaborative artistic response of the three artists (Nicola Anthony, Barry Yeow, and Kim Whye Kee) to their time as artist-mentors to the inmates at Changi Prison, Singapore, delivering the Yellow Ribbon Art Programme.
